Drugstore BB Cream Review

So recently, I've been noticing an increase of dark spots on my face due to swimming regularly so I decided to try a few drugstore BB creams!

The first one that I got was the Loreal Lucent Magique BB Cream at DFS (Changi Airport T3) because it was selling for a slightly cheaper priced as compared to Watsons and Guardian!

Rating: 8/10

Honestly I felt that it did what it said it did, for eg. giving me a very luminous finish and it's not too dry/cakey either and looks totally natural. But because it has sort-of like, micro-exfoliating beads, it feels like it dries out my skin and when I try to use cream blush or any blush on top of it, the BB cream will run as I try to rub/pat it on. But at first, it did feel quite okay though. Maybe my skin's getting drier now. But I'd highly recommend it for oilier skin types! Or combination skin should be fine too, just not dry skin.. Coverage is pretty okay, thick enough for people with a lot of blemishes and dark spots like myself!

Next up is the Za Total Hydration BB Cream! I bought this in a Watsons in Bangkok when I went there last month! Saw a lot of good reviews on it and since the shade they carried at the Watsons looked quite dark I gave it a shot. (I'm darker-skinned so I need darker shades)

Rating: 7/10

It is hydrating, but not (super) hydrating. It isn't too sticky either. But I still do feel that the shade is a tad whiter than my skin colour and even though it blends in wonderfully, it feels like my face shade is still quite a lot lighter than my neck. Coverage is pretty okay as well, not as thick as the Loreal one but still enough to cover my dark spots. It's texture is a bit lighter as compared to the Loreal one as well! I use it on it's own to conceal my dark circles while I apply Nip and Fab's Sheer Make Up Fix all over my face just to mattify it a lil.

Last up is my favourite buy of all the BB Creams that I've bought so far! The Maybelline Pure Mineral Watergel BB Cream. For someone with really dry skin, looking at the word "watergel" just gets me so hyped up! It's so hard to find really, really hydrating BB cream and when I saw it on this month's CLEO magazine, I knew I had to get it.

The colour blends directly into my skin tone and when I massage it across my face, there is a cooling sensation due to the "watergel" part of the BB cream I guess? It deeply hydrates my skin like I've applied another layer of moisturizer! Also, the coverage is sheer and the texture is very light (just the way I like it) as I'm just looking for something to cover my dark spots. I'm not usually a fan of face make up but I don't really mind nowadays because I don't apply liquid foundation much unless I'm going clubbing and even nowadays when I club, I just apply BB cream cuz it feels so much lighter! Been neglecting my liquid foundation from MAC ever since I've got this baby :') Highly, highly recommended for dry skin! It gives a really dewy finish.

Also, it lasts all day! Some shots after shopping with my mom today in town after going for a dinner buffet at Holiday Inn! Just Maybelline's Aquagel BB Cream, Sheene's Choco Mousse Blush (that kinda wore out like real fast, lol), Za's Automatic Brow Pencil, Maybelline's 36 Hour Gel Studio Eyeliner in Brown and Revlon's Grow Luscious Mascara!

So yup, hope it helped in some way or another if you're planning to try any of these 3 BB creams! ^-^
